The thing about plans is they may completely unravel due to circumstances beyond your control. This is what happened with our trip to Barbados and Dominica.
Two activities we were looking forward to was our first SCUBA dive and a trip to Titou Gorge. (I will still post the info article I wrote before we went). We were hit by the edge of Hurricane Ian.
Hurricane Ian has mainly hit the US and the Category 4/5 storm is one of the most powerful ever to hit the country. It has sadly devastated the state of Florida.
Barbados and Dominica are both okay. Though Dominica is still recovering from being hit by a previous hurricane.
Our family was fortunate to not be in any real danger. Our flight to Dominica was delayed by only a day. All we experienced were some storms with awesome lightning and choppy seas. This meant that SCUBA diving and Titou Gorge were out. We were still able to have a great time and I will write these up.
